Creative writing courses

Write Here… offers high-quality, affordable creative writing courses in cities throughout the UK. Taught by published authors, and featuring visits from top literary agents, these seven-week, selective courses are designed to help students start writing the books they’ve been mulling over in their heads and to realise the full potential of their novels-in-progress. We also provide writers with industry insight, to give them the best chance of finding a literary agent and a publisher.

What our creative writing courses give you

  • Weekly writing workshops, led by a published author, focusing on 3,000-word sections of students’ novels-in-progress. Each student will be workshopped once during the course.
  • One 20-minute, one-to-one tutorial with the tutor. Students will be asked to submit 3,000 words from their novel directly, along with any questions about the piece and their novel in general, and these will be discussed in the meeting.
  • Weekly teaching sessions on topics essential to the writing of a novel – which will sometimes include writing exercises and homework.
  • A two-hour Q&A session with Write Here… director Rufus Purdy and a literary agent, to help students get more of an insight into the publishing industry.
